In the mountains of Colorado Jerry Berg visited Dr. Niblick's wood carvings. It was early in the 1960's and Jerry was sure that he could carve funny characters in wood. He learned to carve and developed a skill that grew over the years.
Jerry's interest in carving and in model railroading resulted in dynamic displays that were exhibited at local county fairs and train shows in and around Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona.
In 1993 the owner of Hidden Valley Inn Restaurant of Tucson invited Jerry to draw-up plans to display his carvings at the restaurant. To the delight of many, Jerry's creations went on display at the restaurant in the fall of 1994.
Tragedy visited Jerry when, in 1995, a kitchen fire at the Hidden Valley Inn not only destroyed the restaurant, but hundreds of Jerry's original hand carved charicatures, buildings, and railroads. Jerry rebuilt his collection and began to dream of his own Woodcarvers Miniature World Museum.
In February, 2005, the Hidden Valley Inn went out of business and new opportunities presented themselves to Jerry and his wife, Karen. They bought a building in Pima, Arizona. Jerry's dreams of owning, designing, and maintaining his own museum came to fruition.
